• Contact patients/consumers identified as Self-Pay or Patient Pay and make payment arrangements on outstanding balances.
• We identify reasons for non-payment and determine steps necessary to resolve conflicts and obtain payment.
• We identify those patients/consumers who may have insurance, medical assistance or some other type of medical financial assistance and prompt them to provide documentation sufficient to submit bills and obtain payment.
• Determine if patients and consumers may qualify for Community Care benefits and obtain financial documentation for subsequent review by the client. Based on the patient’s financial situation and the hospital’s criteria, the debt may be partially or totally written off. This determination is made by the hospital staff.
